Edwards, the former sporting director of Liverpool, has been appointed as the CEO of Football at Fenway Sports Group (FSG), the company that owns Liverpool.

Hughes will have the responsibility of identifying and recruiting the successor to Jurgen Klopp as the manager of Liverpool.
Edwards had reportedly declined several offers since leaving Liverpool in 2022, including ones from Manchester United and Chelsea.
FSG President Gordon stated, “It was clear when we initially reached out to him that a broader scope would be a key motivating factor for any potential return to the industry. In this regard – and many others – his ambitions matched ours.”
