The announcement from Buckingham Palace reveals that Britain’s head of state, King Charles III, will attend an Easter Sunday church service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, along with his wife, Queen Camilla.
This engagement marks one of his most high-profile appearances since disclosing his cancer diagnosis.
This development comes amidst an unprecedented situation for the monarchy, as both Charles and his daughter-in-law, Catherine, Princess of Wales, are simultaneously battling serious illnesses.
Catherine, who is married to Charles’s eldest son, Prince William, and is a future queen, recently announced that she is undergoing treatment for cancer.

King Charles III, aged 75, announced his cancer diagnosis in early February, shortly after undergoing surgery for a benign prostate condition. The type of cancer has not been disclosed.
Despite his health challenges, Charles has continued to carry out some official duties, including behind-the-scenes work and select in-person meetings.
Photos released on Tuesday showed Charles receiving community and faith leaders at Buckingham Palace. Last week, he met with diplomats and veterans of the Korean War in separate engagements.
In a statement earlier this month, Charles expressed his determination to continue serving to the best of his ability and thanked people for their well wishes regarding his health.
Meanwhile, Catherine, also known as Kate, has been praised for her bravery in sharing her cancer diagnosis. She underwent abdominal surgery in January, after which cancer was discovered.
Her office stated that she is expected to return to public duties after Easter, following her recovery from chemotherapy.
