Job Title: Junior Human Resources (HR) Generalist
Overview: Canonical, the company behind Ubuntu, is seeking a Junior HR Generalist to support and coordinate general HR activities for the AMER and EMEA regions. This is an exciting opportunity to kickstart your career in a People function, providing support to team members globally. The ideal candidate should have an outstanding academic track record, some experience in an entry-level HR role, and a keen interest in the Technology sector, particularly Open Source.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide HR support, answering queries and responding to requests related to employment and contracts.
- Collaborate with payroll to ensure smooth salary payments.
- Create purchase orders for internal departments.
- Assist with benefits enrollment and processing.
- Conduct regular audits of employment files for accuracy and GDPR compliance.
- Continuously improve HR processes.
- Manage global background checks.
- Maintain HRIS, ensuring accuracy in processing changes and onboarding.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Exceptional academic track record from high school and preferably university.
- Experience in an entry-level HR/People team role, preferably in the Technology industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated with a focus on accuracy.
- High level of honesty, integrity, and ability to handle confidential data.
- Flexible attitude and adaptability to change.
- Willing to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
