A 30-year-old graduate of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede in Imo State, Nerus Elemamba, has tragically taken his own life.
His body was discovered hanging in his room on Monday evening in his village, Umuohii, Oboama community in the Ezinihitte Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State.
According to reports, Nerus allegedly committed suicide after participating in the day’s village manual labor alongside his peers.
Shockingly, he showed no apparent signs of depression prior to the incident.

A source from the village disclosed the unfortunate event, mentioning that Nerus, who studied Architecture, appeared healthy and active before his sudden demise.
Despite his participation in the day’s activities, his lifeless body was found later in the evening.
Further details revealed that Nerus didn’t leave behind any suicide note, adding to the mystery surrounding his actions.
The village youth leader, Iheukwumere Ibeh, expressed shock over the incident, emphasizing that Nerus was being laid to rest following necessary cultural rites.
While the exact reasons for Nerus’s tragic decision remain unknown, the community is left in disbelief and sorrow.
Authorities, including the police spokesperson Henry Okoye, are yet to provide official statements regarding the incident.
