Gunmen attacked Dungwel village in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State on Sunday evening, resulting in the tragic death of at least four individuals.
Shedrack Gambo, a relative of the victims, confirmed the fatalities and noted that others sustained injuries in the attack.
The community is currently in shock and mourning.
Captain Oya James, the spokesman for the Military Taskforce, confirmed the incident on Monday.

According to James, the assailants targeted a specific person, identified as the village head, upon arrival.
The bandits, inquiring about the village head’s residence, prompted residents to flee upon realizing the unfolding danger.
The attackers set the village head’s house ablaze, with his family members trapped inside.
Troops, alerted to the situation, intervened and rescued the victims.
The village head managed to escape, and the soldiers broke into the burning house to save the wives and children who were still inside.
James emphasized that without the timely intervention of the soldiers, the trapped family members might have perished in the fire.
The incident has left the community in distress, and authorities are working to address the aftermath of the attack.
