The Ogun State Government is set to initiate the distribution of tree planting tools in its nine forest reserves across the state.
Engineer Taiwo Oludotun, the Commissioner of Forestry, made this announcement during a press briefing in Abeokuta while inspecting the tree planting tools.
The tools to be distributed include watering cans, wheelbarrows, and head pans.

The aim is to support and encourage tree planting initiatives within the state.
The Forestry Commissioner stated that the ministry intends to distribute approximately two million seedlings before the commencement of the 2024 planting season.
Furthermore, Engineer Oludotun highlighted the ministry’s commitment to ensuring the survival of one million trees planted in 2023.
He reported that the ministry had achieved 80 to 90 percent success in this regard.
This emphasizes the government’s dedication to environmental conservation and sustainable forestry practices within Ogun State.
