The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has requested to see the death certificate of the former Director of Legal, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Grace Taiga.
Taiga was standing trial on allegations of bribery related to the Gas Supply Processing Agreement between Process and Industrial Development and the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Taiga’s lawyer, Daniel Alumun, informed the Federal Capital Territory High Court on November 4, 2023, that his client had passed away on August 1, 2023.

The case was adjourned until Wednesday.During the recent hearing, the EFCC, represented by counsel Mohammed Hussain, insisted on seeing Taiga’s death certificate before any decision could be taken.
Taiga’s lawyer requested more time to obtain the certificate, stating that it was not yet ready.Justice Olukayode Adeniyi, presiding over the case, adjourned the proceedings until March 6, 2024, for a further report on the death certificate.
