On the 4th of April 2024, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, on charges related to the abuse of the Nigerian currency, spraying of naira notes, and currency mutilation.
The controversial cross-dresser was taken into custody on Wednesday night in Lagos and is presently detained at the EFCC’s Lagos Command.

Confirming the arrest in a telephone interview on Thursday, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale stated that Bobrisky would face legal proceedings.
Oyewale emphasized the seriousness of the EFCC’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the Nigerian currency, noting ongoing investigations while affirming Bobrisky’s forthcoming court appearance.
