The Ebonyi State Police Command announced on Friday that it has recorded notable achievements in crime prevention, reporting over 300 cases and the arrest of more than 487 suspects from June till date.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Augustina Ogbodo, shared the details during a press conference held in Abakaliki.
Within the mentioned period, the command successfully prosecuted 140 cases and charged 187 suspects to court.
Commissioner Ogbodo highlighted that the efforts resulted in 15 convictions, emphasizing the commitment of the police in ensuring justice and maintaining law and order.
Additionally, the Ebonyi State Police Command revealed that it recovered 12 stolen vehicles and seized 20 assorted firearms.

The law enforcement agency also secured the retrieval of 350 ammunitions of different calibers and successfully disbanded criminal activities by dismantling hideouts in various parts of the state.
Commissioner Ogbodo expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for providing the necessary support to the state’s law enforcement efforts.
She also commended the collaborative efforts of sister agencies, emphasizing that their cooperation significantly contributed to the achievements.
The Commissioner acknowledged the state Governor, Francis Nwifuru, and his team for creating an enabling environment that facilitated the effective discharge of police duties.
Ogbodo assured continued dedication to maintaining security and urged ongoing support from stakeholders to further enhance crime prevention measures in Ebonyi State.
In conclusion, she reiterated the commitment of the police command, stating, “The command will not relent,” underscoring the determination to sustain the positive momentum in combating crime in the state.
