FIFA confirmed on Saturday that three bids have been submitted for hosting the 2027 Women’s World Cup from different regions.

The bidding process closed with joint bids from Belgium, Netherlands, and Germany representing Europe, and Mexico teaming up with the United States. Brazil is the only country with a sole bid.

FIFA will conduct a comprehensive evaluation process, including on-site inspection visits starting in February 2024.

The findings will be published in a bid evaluation report in May 2024. The final decision on the host country will be made through an open vote at the FIFA Congress in Bangkok on May 17, 2024.

South Africa initially planned to bid but withdrew last month, indicating a preference to present a well-prepared bid for the 2031 Women’s World Cup.

The United States hosted the tournament individually in 1999 and 2003, while Germany hosted the event in 2011.

The most recent Women’s World Cup took place in July and August of the current year, co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, with Spain emerging as the champions by defeating England in the final.
