Tragic details have emerged regarding the death of 32-year-old banker Amarachi Ugochukwu, who was found dead in a restroom at her workplace in Ikorodu after consuming insecticide.

Amarachi, who worked at a bank, reportedly combined her banking job with a footwear business to make ends meet.

On Monday, January 8, around 1 pm, Amarachi entered the restroom and consumed the insecticide, unbeknownst to her colleagues.

Her lifeless body was discovered, accompanied by a suicide note in which she expressed her grievances about the economic hardships in the country.

Mourners have taken to social media to express sadness over the incident.

A Facebook user, Folusho Adebisi, revealed that Amarachi, in addition to her banking job, was a hardworking and friendly lady who also engaged in shoemaking.

Adebisi mentioned that his son had patronized her footwear business, Donetsk Footwear Limited, and had met her on several occasions.

The suicide note found beside Amarachi’s body detailed her struggles, citing low figures, a clogged-up mind, a challenging economy, wrong decisions, and a bleak future.

She expressed extreme hardship and apologized to her parents and other family members. The note concluded with a plea to the Lord for mercy.

Amarachi’s body was later removed by the police and deposited at the Ikorodu General Hospital for autopsy.

The incident has sparked conversations online about mental health, economic challenges, and the need for support systems to address such issues.
