John Emmanuel, the President of Abuja Newspapers Distributors Association, fell victim to a kidnapping incident orchestrated by bandits who targeted him in a ‘one-chance’ vehicle on the Giri Highway in the Federal Capital Territory on Tuesday night.
Information gathered indicates that the kidnappers have demanded a ₦15 million ransom for his release.
According to reports, Emmanuel was abducted around 8 pm while on his way back home.
His wife, Mrs. Uche Emmanuel, confirmed the abduction and the ransom demand in an interview, revealing that her husband was in a public taxi that turned out to be a ‘one-chance’ vehicle.

The abductors have since contacted the family, specifying the ransom amount.
The FCT Police Command stated that the incident has not been reported to the police for intervention.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, mentioned that the police are unaware of the incident as it has not been officially reported by the family.
