Moris Fadehan, a pastor overseeing the Celestial Church of Christ, Grace of Comfort Parish in Omitoto, Osun State, was tragically murdered inside his church by one of his assistants, Lekan Ogundipe.
The incident came to light on Monday when the suspect drew attention to the partly burnt remains of the pastor within the church premises.
Reportedly, Ogundipe sought out the founder of the church, whose identity remains undisclosed, claiming that a fire was consuming the pastor.
Additionally, a resident of Omitoto was alerted by Ogundipe about the supposed fire.
Upon arriving at the scene, this resident noticed blood on Ogundipe’s attire and brought this observation to the attention of the church’s founder.

Subsequently, the resident called the police, leading to the arrest of Ogundipe at the crime scene.
The motive behind the murder remains unclear, although sources close to the deceased revealed a previous altercation between Ogundipe and Fadehan.
It was reported that Fadehan had confiscated the church keys from Ogundipe after he assaulted a prophetess during a disagreement the previous Wednesday.
Further disturbances in the church ensued on Sunday, with Ogundipe’s issue contributing to the crisis. The fatal attack occurred on Monday when Fadehan was praying in the church.
Ogundipe allegedly assaulted him, leading to a struggle, during which Ogundipe fatally struck Fadehan with a screwdriver, then attempted to conceal the crime by setting the body on fire.
The police spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation has been launched.
The deceased’s body has been deposited at the OAUTHC morgue for autopsy.
