Oladipupo Adebutu, the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Ogun State, has confirmed the completion of the Supreme Court appeal process concerning the March 18 election.
Initially challenging the victory of Governor Dapo Abiodun from the All Progressives Congress, Adebutu cited over-voting, gross misconduct, disenfranchisement through violence, and non-compliance with the electoral act.
Despite the dismissal of his petition by the Ogun State Election Petition Tribunal in September, and the subsequent dismissal of his appeal by the Court of Appeal in Lagos in November, Adebutu remains hopeful for justice.
A statement by his media aide, Afolabi Orekoya, revealed that the appeal has been filed at the apex court, expressing optimism in the fairness of the judicial process.

Having returned from the United Kingdom, Adebutu stated that his homecoming aligns with the Christmas celebration.
The statement emphasized that all necessary processes to reclaim the mandate in Ogun State have been concluded at the Supreme Court without encountering any successful ambush.
In his Christmas message, Adebutu drew parallels between the teachings of Jesus Christ and his pursuit of justice, emphasizing love, compassion, and sacrifice.
He urged people to pray for the redemption of Ogun State, reflecting on Christ’s selflessness and sacrifice.
Despite the legal challenges, Adebutu remains positive, asserting that victory will be achieved in the journey of reclaiming the allegedly stolen mandate, bringing relief to the people of Ogun State.
Expressing gratitude for the warm reception from the people of Ogun State, the statement noted their firm belief that true justice will prevail at the Supreme Court.
Adebutu encouraged peaceful celebrations during the Christmas season, expressing hope that victory is imminent.
