The Ogun State Police Command has announced the arrest of Shedrack Olawale Olayemi, who had been on their wanted list for armed robbery and the alleged rape of female students from Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, in July.

Olayemi was apprehended by officers from the Igbeba Division, Ijebu-Ode, on Monday.

According to the state police spokesperson, SP Omolola Odutola, the arrest was made after an intelligence report revealed that the 33-year-old suspect was spotted in the university area attempting to conceal his identity.

Olayemi had been actively evading capture since July 21, 2024, when he and his accomplices allegedly broke into the Royal Villa, a female student accommodation, and robbed the students of valuable items such as laptops, iPhones, sports watches, and cash.
