Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known by his stage name Wizkid, made a series of thought-provoking statements on the social media platform X.com on Thursday.

The Grammy-award-winning Nigerian singer, widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential artists in Africa, took to X to share his views on religion and spirituality.

Wizkid, known for global hits like “Essence,” “Come Closer,” and “Ojuelegba,” wrote, “I could start a church if I wanted.” This statement has garnered significant attention from his massive fanbase, sparking speculation and discussions about his intentions.

The 33-year-old artist, who blends Afrobeats, R&B, and pop music, continued with a series of posts, adding, “Jesus is King,” and “After God na God. No go whine.”

Hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, Wizkid has achieved numerous accolades throughout his career, including a Grammy Award for his contribution to Beyoncé’s “Brown Skin Girl.”
