A woman, Salisu Aishat, and seven others have been arrested by the Lagos state police command in connection with the death of an unidentified man during a birthday celebration in the Ijora Badia area of Lagos State.

SAVING POINT MEADIA learned that Aishat was celebrating her birthday on Olayemi Street, Ijora Badia, and had invited several guests. The celebration took a tragic turn when the victim was found lying unconscious on the floor during the event.

Attendees moved closer to investigate and discovered a wound on the man’s head, indicating that something sinister had occurred. A source, speaking anonymously due to fear of victimization, mentioned that the incident caused confusion among the partygoers.

The source also revealed that a fight had broken out during the party, suggesting that the victim might have been injured in the altercation.

“There was a party on Olayemi Street, Ijora Badia, and a fight broke out during the celebration. Suddenly, the man was found lying on the ground. When people moved closer to him, they discovered he had died and had a wound on his head,” the source said.

The incident was reported to the Ijora Badia Police Division. When officers arrived and conducted their investigation, they arrested the celebrant and several other attendees.

State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident, stating it occurred around 9:10 PM on April 16, 2024. He added that a concerned community member had reported the case to the police.

“Immediately, the DPO led his patrol team to the scene, and the celebrant, Salisu Aishat, and seven others were arrested. A wound was discovered on the head of the corpse,” Hundeyin said.

The body was evacuated and taken to the Mainland Hospital morgue in Yaba for preservation and autopsy. The investigation is ongoing.
