Chiamaka Nnadozie, the Nigerian international goalkeeper, has secured her place in history as the first African and Nigerian player to clinch the title of best goalkeeper in the French D1 Arkema (women’s league).

The 23-year-old goalkeeper’s exceptional performance throughout the season, highlighted by her remarkable penalty-saving skills, solidified her reputation as one of the world’s top goalkeepers.

Nnadozie faced tough competition from Christiane Endler of Olympic Lyon and Katarzyna Kiedrzynek of Paris SG, but ultimately emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious individual award.

Pierre Ferracci, president of Nnadozie’s club, Paris FC, expressed his delight at her achievement, stating, “It’s very pleasing because she deserves it and she achieved an exceptional Champions League and not only on penalties. She is adorable. It is deserved.”

Currently, Paris FC holds the third position in the league standings with 42 points, trailing behind Paris Saint-Germain and league leaders Lyon.

Expressing her gratitude on social media platform X, Nnadozie said, “Excited to have won the French D1 Arkema Goalkeeper of the Year. A big thanks to everyone who voted for me… GOD DID.”
