Mount Zion Faith Ministries’ Founder, Mike Bamiloye, has voiced his worries over young individuals prioritizing lavish wedding ceremonies over genuine marriage preparation.

In a recent Facebook post, Bamiloye highlighted the growing trend of young couples rushing into marriage without adequate understanding or skills.

He observed that many focus more on the wedding day than on preparing for the lifelong commitment of marriage.

Bamiloye remarked, “I am concerned about the current generation’s approach to marriage. Many lack sufficient preparation and understanding of marriage. They invest more time in wedding preparations than in understanding the essence of marriage. There is a lack of deep study about what marriage truly means, and many are too impatient to learn the principles of marital life.”

He pointed out that some young women, despite being in their late twenties, lack essential skills like cooking and spiritual grounding.

Instead, they spend excessive time on wedding preparations, focusing on dresses and bridal accessories.

Emphasizing the importance of spiritual foundation, effective communication, and perseverance in marriage, Bamiloye urged couples to address issues during courtship and not ignore warning signs.

He stated, “I advocate against domestic abuse. A man who harms his wife is unworthy of human society.

However, we are witnessing increasing separations and divorces among believers due to lack of endurance, respect, and patience.”

Bamiloye highlighted the significance of noticing potential issues during courtship, urging couples to address “red flags” and sharpen any “rough edges” in their relationship before marriage.

In a related report from November 2023 by Saving Point Media, Bamiloye expressed concerns about women who appear respectful in church but demonstrate stubbornness, rudeness, and disobedience at home.
