Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has made changes to his cabinet, redeploying two commissioners believed to be aligned with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Professor Zacchaeus Adangor SAN, who previously served as the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Special Duties within the Governor’s Office.

Meanwhile, Isaac Kamalu, the former Commissioner for Finance, has been transferred to the Ministry of Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment.

The announcement of this minor cabinet reshuffle was made through a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.

The statement directed Adangor and Kamalu to promptly hand over their responsibilities to their respective permanent secretaries, with the redeployments taking immediate effect.

“Professor Zacchaeus Adangor SAN, the former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice is now deployed to the Ministry of Special Duties (Governor’s Office).

“Barrister Isaac Kamalu, the former Commissioner for Finance, is now deployed to the Ministry of Employment Generation and Economic Empowerment.

“They are to hand over to their respective Permanent Secretaries immediately as this deployment takes immediate effect. All hand-over processes must be completed immediately.”

Both Adangor and Kamalu were part of the nine commissioners who resigned their positions from Fubara’s cabinet during the political upheaval in the state.

The reshuffle follows the resolution of a prolonged rift between former Governor Wike and his successor, Fubara, mediated by President Bola Tinubu, which mandated Fubara to reappoint the resigned commissioners.
