The Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the General Overseer of CAC Freedom City Prophetic and Deliverance Ministry in Ilorin, Kwara State, Adeniyi James, for allegedly defrauding a church member of N3,980,000.
According to a statement by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the victim, Oluwole Babarinsa, submitted a petition to the commission, alleging that James called him out during a church program in 2021, claiming to have had a revelation about his impending travel abroad.
In response to the revelation, the petitioner stated that James mentioned having a friend in Lagos who could assist in facilitating his relocation to Canada.

Despite several appeals and attempts to recover the funds, the petitioner allegedly received no positive response from the suspect.
The EFCC stated that investigations into the matter are ongoing and the suspect will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the investigation process.
