Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, expressed deep sorrow over the untimely passing of Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa, his former Special Adviser on Vocational and Technical Education.
The tragic incident, occurring on Tuesday, marked a profound loss to both the state and the education sector.
Prof. Odemuyiwa, who served as the governor’s aide during his initial term in office, reportedly met his demise in an accident while en route to Lead City University in Ibadan, Oyo State, where he served as a lecturer.

In a heartfelt condolence message, Governor Abiodun conveyed his grief, describing Prof. Odemuyiwa’s demise as tragic and deeply saddening.
He emphasized the significant contributions made by the late special adviser to the advancement of vocational and technical education in the state during his tenure.
“Prof. Odemuyiwa’s legacy as an educator and advocate will always be remembered and cherished. He was a highly respected individual who made significant contributions to the success of our administration in vocational and technical education,” the governor remarked.
Governor Abiodun extended his sympathies to the family and loved ones of the deceased, offering prayers for the repose of his soul. “Please accept my deepest condolences during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace,” he added, reflecting on the profound loss felt by many due to Prof. Odemuyiwa’s sudden departure.
