In a tragic turn of events, Gbolahan Oyedemi, a Deputy Commissioner of Police serving with the Force Criminal Investigation Department in Alagbon, Lagos State, reportedly committed suicide on Monday at his private residence in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Oyedemi, known for his role as the Aide de Camp to the late former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala during his 11-month tenure in 2006, was discovered deceased in his home.

A source close to the family, speaking to our correspondent in Ibadan, revealed that Oyedemi, who typically visited his hometown for Easter celebrations, had instructed his aides to spend time with their families over the weekend.

“Yes, he committed suicide. His body was found hanging in his house yesterday (Monday). He stays alone, and he normally comes home for Easter celebrations,” the source stated.

Despite attempts to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, for comment, his mobile number remained unreachable.
