Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, and the Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Mr. Tayo Ayinde, have both issued threats to take legal action against the Aare Ona Kakanfo, Iba Gani Adams, for allegedly accusing them of plotting an assassination.
In separate pre-action letters sent by their respective lawyers, Igboho and Ayinde demanded that Adams retract the alleged assassination claim or face court proceedings.
When contacted for comment, Adams declined, stating, “No comment on that.”
In a pre-action letter dated March 20, 2024, Ayinde’s lawyer, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN), demanded that Adams retract the allegation without further prompting from Ayinde.

Olumide-Fusika pointed to a press release issued by Igboho, titled: “I did not take part in killing Chief Bola Ige…”, as the basis for the pre-action letter. He highlighted that Igboho’s press release was in response to allegations made against him in a viral voice note attributed to Adams.
According to Olumide-Fusika, Igboho’s press release implicated Ayinde in the alleged assassination plot mentioned by Adams.
The lawyer cited specific statements from Igboho’s press release, suggesting that Adams claimed Ayinde hired Igboho to assassinate him (Adams).
Olumide-Fusika described the allegations made by Adams as injurious to Ayinde’s reputation and demanded a retraction.
Likewise, Igboho’s lawyer, J.A. Sanusi, in a letter dated March 18, 2024, addressed to Adams, expressed concern over the alleged lies and defamatory remarks made against Igboho.
Sanusi referred to an audio clip circulating on social media where Adams purportedly made various damaging allegations against Igboho, including accusations of assassination, involvement in criminal activities, and receiving monetary compensation for illegal activities.
Sanusi demanded Adams to retract the allegations and also sought compensation of N500 million for the damages caused to Igboho’s reputation and economic losses.
Both Igboho and Ayinde indicated their intentions to seek legal recourse if Adams failed to comply with their demands for retractions and compensation.
