The Ogun State government has responded to calls for the rehabilitation of the Agbado-Oke Aro-Akute road, following a video featuring 500 pastors urging Governor Dapo Abiodun to fulfil his re-election promise concerning the road’s repair.

In a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, the government reaffirmed its commitment to road construction and maintenance, highlighting its track record of constructing over 600 kilometers of roads since assuming office in 2019.

Regarding the specific project, the government stated that half of the Alagbole-Sango Ota road has already been completed, with plans to address the remaining portion in the current budget cycle.

However, delays in execution were attributed to budgetary constraints and the escalating costs of construction materials, which the government assured were being addressed.

The statement emphasized the importance of taxpayers’ contributions to support government initiatives and urged residents to fulfil their tax obligations to facilitate the delivery of essential services and infrastructure.

Akinsanya reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing the road project and emphasized the need for cooperation between the government and citizens to navigate economic challenges and ensure the successful completion of developmental projects.

He called for collective efforts to bolster the economy and urged residents to pay their taxes promptly to support government initiatives.
