The federal government, through the Renewed Hope Estates initiative, is set to construct a range of housing units in Ogun State, catering to various income levels.
These include 1, 2, and 3-bedroom flats, as well as affordable multi-level flats and bungalows tailored for low-income earners.
Additionally, high-end detached bungalows, terraces, and duplexes will be built to accommodate high-income earners.
This housing project will extend to other states across the nation, including Abuja.
The plan was discussed during a visit by delegates from the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to Ogun State’s Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi, at the Oke-Mosan office in Abeokuta.

The head of the delegation, TPL. Taiwo Adeluola, commended Governor Dapo Abiodun’s efforts in the housing sector and requested suitable land with adequate off-site infrastructure for easy accessibility to the housing project.
Adeluola revealed that the Federal Government intends to kickstart the construction of 34,500 housing units in 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory, to address the housing deficit nationwide.
In response, Commissioner Omoniyi reiterated the state government’s commitment to meeting the housing needs of its citizens.
He appreciated the collaboration between the Federal Government and private organizations in providing decent accommodation, which has significantly reduced the housing deficit in the state.
He assured that the present administration would continue to align with President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda, ensuring the provision of affordable housing to alleviate the prevailing hardship in the country.
