The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced that the installation of speed limit devices is now mandatory for both private and commercial vehicles operating on roads within Ogun State.

The traffic management agency stated its intention to soon commence enforcement of the device’s usage across all vehicles in the state.

Anthony Ugah, the State Sector Commander, issued this warning during the FRSC 2024 First Quarter Workshop held in Abeokuta, the state capital.

He emphasized that the installation of speed limit devices in vehicles would significantly reduce the high rate of auto crashes in the state.

Ugah further clarified that FRSC would only accept speed limit devices purchased from its accredited vendors, whose list is available on the agency’s website.

He highlighted that speeding accounted for over 90 percent of road crashes in the state, urging motorists not to exceed a speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour.
