The Ondo State Security Network Agency, commonly known as the Amotekun Corps, has apprehended 67 individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping and various other crimes across the state.

Collaborating with the police, army, DSS, and NSCDC, Amotekun operatives conducted operations resulting in the arrests over the past two weeks.

Commander Akogun Adetunji Adeleye disclosed that many of the suspects were identified by their victims, confirming their roles in the crimes.

Parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Akure, Adeleye highlighted that they were apprehended during the rounding up of Operation Ember Months programmes.

The suspects were found to be involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, housebreaking, and murder, with some being in possession of weapons.

Notably, three of the suspects had escaped from prison while facing criminal charges in Benin, Edo State.

Adeleye emphasized that the arrests aimed to send a clear message to criminals that Ondo State would not tolerate their activities, reaffirming the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability.

Adeleye urged residents to report any suspicious individuals or activities to security agencies.

He reiterated the Amotekun Corps’ dedication to ensuring the safety of socio-economic activities in Ondo State.
