The Ogun State Government has issued a stern warning to Forestry Officers in the state, cautioning them against collaborating with unauthorized individuals, particularly loggers, in activities such as tree felling and resource loading, especially during weekends.

Engr. Taiwo Oludotun, the Commissioner for Forestry, delivered this warning during an address to management and Forest Officers at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abeokuta on Tuesday.

He urged officers to refrain from laziness and instead adopt a proactive approach to enhance the ministry’s revenue generation efforts.

He further urged team leaders to conduct regular meetings, preferably on a weekly basis, to review activities, monitor progress, and address habitual absenteeism among staff.

Mr. Timothy Olatunji, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, reiterated the government’s commitment to human capacity development.

He appreciated the Commissioner for his support, particularly during the recent training program, and urged officers to apply the knowledge gained to their daily activities effectively.
