The Ogun State government is dedicated to empowering women with financial literacy through the ‘Oko-Owo Dapo’ empowerment scheme, aimed at expanding access to opportunities and resources while combating poverty.

Hon. Adijat Adeleye, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, emphasized the importance of the ‘Training Of Trainers Workshop on Financial Education’ during her keynote address at the Rotary Club House in Abeokuta.

She highlighted the significance of participants imparting their acquired knowledge to others and encouraged them to apply the basics of financial management to independently enhance their businesses.

Adeleye assured participants of the commitment of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration to prioritize women’s welfare and financial independence, ultimately reducing violence against women.

Mrs. Bolanle Fadairo, the State Project Coordinator of the Nigeria For Women Project, explained that the training aimed to cultivate skills in managing finances to enhance livelihoods and well-being.

Dr. Funke Koleowo emphasized essential points in financial education during her lecture, emphasizing the importance of prudent spending, saving, and borrowing, which are fundamental for inclusive financial management.

Mrs. Muinat Lawal, representing other participants, expressed gratitude to Governor Dapo Abiodun for the training, recognizing its potential to improve livelihoods and promising to share the knowledge with fellow members.

Facilitators from Ogun West and Ogun East Senatorial Districts, Mr. Rashidi Ajibade and Mr. Taiwo Oyeneye, emphasized the significance of financial planning in achieving realistic goals and objectives within a specific timeframe.
