David Ubaha, a 41-year-old businessman from Itu Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State, staged a solitary protest in Uyo to express his frustration with the harsh economic conditions prevailing in Nigeria.

Carrying placards both in front and behind his shirt, Ubaha highlighted issues such as the high cost of living, currency depreciation, insecurity, and uncontrolled inflation, among others.

During the protest, Ubaha criticized the leadership for not considering the ideas put forward by the people to address the economic challenges facing the country.

He called for local production, economic diversification, revival of dying industries, and investment in mechanized farming as potential solutions.

Additionally, he urged an end to unnecessary borrowing, improvement of healthcare infrastructure, and discouragement of seeking medical treatment abroad.

Ubaha emphasized that he was not protesting for personal gain but out of concern for the collective well-being of the society.

He expressed how the economic situation had adversely affected him and many others, particularly in terms of increased costs of fuel and food items.

His protest comes on the heels of similar demonstrations in Ibadan, where residents voiced their grievances over the escalating cost of food and the general state of the economy.

The protests reflect the growing discontent and frustration among Nigerians with the prevailing economic challenges.
