On Tuesday, the Gombe State Police Command made a significant arrest, apprehending 22 suspects, among whom were David Ochuko, aged 32, and Jibril Sani, aged 27.

The arrests were made on charges of impersonation, conspiracy, and possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp.

The suspects were paraded at the command headquarters, where the State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Abubakar, provided details of the arrests.

According to Abubakar, the suspects were nabbed for impersonating an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

“On the 7th of February, 2024,” Abubakar stated, “the suspects were arrested with six blocks of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp. They were arrested along Dasa village of Dadin-kowa. They were arrested with an ASP identity card with an Army operational cap.”

Additionally, the police paraded individuals involved in criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.

Among them were Yahaya Abdulkadir, Shuaibu Ahmadu, Musa Hussaini, Usman Haruna, Adamu Munkaila, Abdulmalik Mohammed, Dangunde Abba, Abdulsalam Shehu, Abdulmalik Garba, Ibrahim Yunusa, and Babangida Idris.

The arrests came after Yahaya Garba reported being robbed of his Bajaj motorcycle and injured. Further investigation revealed that Yahaya Abdulkadir and Shuaibu Ahmadu conspired to commit the robbery.

As a result, stolen property, including three Bajaj motorcycles, was recovered from the suspects’ residences following police intervention.
