Job Purpose / Objectives: To provide independent review, assessment, and effectively manage a robust internal control framework across the company. Principal resource responsible for accomplishing compliance objectives by driving a consistent approach to the management of compliance risks within the business.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, design, and implement policies and procedures designed to facilitate the company’s compliance with applicable legal and regulatory obligations (“Policy Framework”).
- Implement Group-Wide Compliance program within the country of responsibility and provide periodic reports to the Group Chief Compliance Officer on developments.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the company’s business activities and identify amendments to the Compliance Programme as required.
- Receive speak-up/whistleblower reports and/or carry out investigations as directed by the Chief Compliance Officer.
- Provide country compliance quarterly reports for submission to the Compliance Committee of the Board of Directors.
- Monitor compliance with the UK Bribery Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and Nigeria Anti-Corruption Legislations.
- Lead the annual certification process, training programs, and knowledge exchange sessions.
- Seek opportunities for participation & involvement in professional groups/associations within the Energy industry.
Educational Qualifications / Knowledge:
- University Degree (or its equivalent) in Law, Accounting, internal audits, etc.
- Professional Certification in the specified field (will be an advantage).
Experience:
- Minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Understand business strategy and objectives.
- Ability to influence employees across the business to facilitate an effective internal control framework environment.
