Description: TAF Africa is seeking the services of a Research Consultant to conduct research on the impact of fuel subsidy removal on Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in Nigeria. The consultant will be responsible for gathering empirical data directly from the PWD community, including those with albinism, physical disability, hearing impairment, visually impaired, intellectual disability, etc. The research aims to understand how the removal of fuel subsidy is impacting the lives and day-to-day activities of PWDs, their coping mechanisms, awareness of government interventions, receipt of assistance or relief from the government, and specific expectations from the government. The major deliverables include a concept note on study methodology, data gathering tools, a final research report, and a press statement.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a concept note on the study methodology, including data gathering tools.
  • Conduct In-depth Interviews (IDI) with PWDs, disability cluster heads, executives of organizations of PWDs, and government officials.
  • Analyze the gathered data and prepare a comprehensive research report.
  • Provide key findings and recommendations for advocacy purposes during engagements with policymakers, government agencies, public influencers, and other stakeholders.

Salary: N400,000 per month.
