Electricity consumers in Gombe, as well as parts of Yola and Bauchi states, are set to experience a temporary power outage on Thursday and Friday due to scheduled maintenance by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN).

The maintenance activity involves preventive maintenance on the bay of the T1A 150MVA, 330/132/33kV transformer bay.

The TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, revealed that the maintenance would take place over eight hours, from 9 am to 5 pm on both days.

To facilitate the exercise, the TCN will transfer the load from the T1A 150MVA transformer to the T2A 150MVA transformer in the same substation.

This transfer will result in a temporary interruption of bulk power supply to Jos and Yola Distribution Companies (DisCos) through the T1A transformer.

Mbah clarified that the interruption would only affect bulk supply during the transfer period and not the entire eight-hour maintenance duration on both days.

The short outage is expected to impact Gombe and certain parts of Yola and Bauchi states only, during the transfer time.

TCN assured that bulk power supply through the transformer would be promptly restored immediately after completing the maintenance exercise.

The company expressed regret for any inconvenience caused to electricity consumers in the affected areas.

Additionally, TCN recently conducted scheduled preventive maintenance on the Jos-Lafia 330kV transmission lines, which had been inactive for some time.
