Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, affirmed on Wednesday that there would be no tolerance for abandoned projects in the local government areas of the state.
Addressing outgoing chairmen of local governments and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), the governor assured that their successors would be responsible for completing the projects they initiated.
Speaking at a valedictory luncheon organized in honor of the outgoing chairmen by the Ministry of Local Government Affairs in Ado Ekiti, Governor Oyebanji emphasized the administration’s commitment to avoiding abandoned projects at the council level for the benefit of Ekiti citizens.
The governor is set to inaugurate the newly elected council chairmen and vice chairmen of the 16 local governments and 22 LCDAs on Thursday.

Oyebanji congratulated those who secured re-election and offered words of encouragement to those leaving office, stating that entry and exit from public office were inevitable in political careers.
He urged all politicians, regardless of their current status, to remain humble with power, connect with the people, and serve with respect, honor, and a connection to God.
Acknowledging the outgoing chairmen’s contributions, Governor Oyebanji commended their satisfactory efforts and services to Ekiti over the last two years.
The Chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, Ekiti State Chapter, Olabode Adetunji, praised the governor for providing direction and credited the chairmen’s performances to the financial independence allowed by the governor in the councils.
Adetunji assured that the incoming council leaders would collaborate with the governor to realize his vision at the local government level.
