Richard Olatunde, the Chief Press Secretary to the former Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, and Dare Aragbaye, the Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties, have both tendered their resignations.

Addressing their letters to the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, the two aides attributed their decisions to the unfortunate and untimely death of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON.

In his resignation letter titled ‘Resignation Letter,’ Olatunde expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Governor Akeredolu, whom he described as their leader, principal, and father figure.

He highlighted the exceptional qualities of Akeredolu, stating that the late governor’s leadership and dedication to the development of Ondo State inspired him to contribute his quota to the progress of the state during his tenure as Chief Press Secretary.

Similarly, Aragbaye, in his resignation letter, based his decision on the untimely death of Governor Akeredolu, whom he described as a fearless and honest leader to whom he remained loyal even in death.

Aragbaye expressed gratitude to Akeredolu for the opportunity to serve in his administration as a member of the State Executive Council.

The resignations come in the wake of Governor Akeredolu’s demise, which occurred in Germany at the age of 67.

Subsequently, the Deputy Governor, Aiyedatiwa, has been sworn in as the substantive governor of Ondo State, with the ceremony taking place at the Government House in Alagbaka, Akure.
