Gunmen have reportedly killed at least eight people in the NTV community near Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria.

The attack occurred in the early hours of Monday, adding to the series of violent incidents in the region.

The spokesperson for the military task force in the state, Captain Oya James, confirmed the attack, stating that they were yet to verify the exact number of casualties.

While acknowledging loss of lives during the invasion, Captain James mentioned that troops had been deployed in the affected communities.

A resident of the community, Philip Manji, who managed to escape the attack, informed reporters that eight people were killed during the assault.
