A collision along the Orile-Imo section of the Abeokuta-Sagamu Expressway on Sunday narrowly spared the lives of nine individuals after a Toyota car and a Mitsubishi bus, both traveling at high speeds, collided.

The impact caused the bus to overturn, and the car skidded off the highway.

An anonymous eyewitness revealed that the collision resulted from the excessive speed of the drivers.

The source stated, “What I saw was that the vehicles were on high speed when one lost control and collided with the other. I got there a few minutes after it happened.”

The spokesperson for the Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Florence Okpe, confirmed the accident and attributed it to the drivers’ excessive speeding.

She stated, “I can confirm that the accident happened along the Orile-Imo section of the Abeokuta-Sagamu expressway. There was no loss of life, although nine persons were involved, six males and three females, but the three females got injured and they have been taken to the Idera Hospital in Sagamu.”
