Former Minister of Works, Babatunde Fashola, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu’s involvement is not required in the ongoing political tensions in Ondo and Rivers states.

Speaking at an event in Lagos, Fashola emphasized that the constitution does not assign a role to the President in such matters.

He questioned those urging presidential intervention, highlighting the importance of adhering to constitutional procedures and roles of officials in handling state crises.

Fashola commended the “blue-blood Ondo indigenes” who advocated for law and constitutionality during their state’s recent crisis.

He urged leadership in Rivers State to take appropriate action rather than shifting responsibility.
