Gunmen dressed in military uniform have allegedly kidnapped seven persons along the Fidiwo axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The armed men accosted a vehicle, fired sporadically, abducted seven passengers, and escaped into the bush along the expressway.

During the incident, a female passenger in another vehicle who witnessed the attack and attempted to flee was shot and is in critical condition, while another unidentified woman was shot dead.

A source reported that the kidnappers were dressed in military uniform.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and stated that the police had initiated a manhunt for the suspected kidnappers.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu, ordered a bush combing exercise, leading to the successful rescue of one victim, Kasali Idris Adegoroye, a 43-year-old male.

The police continue efforts to rescue the remaining victims, and the public has been urged not to panic or alter their travel plans.
