The Osun State Government is calling on residents to provide any information that could help identify the parents of a newborn left abandoned in the Dagbolu Area of Ikirun, Osun State.

This appeal was conveyed through an announcement in the State Ministry of Information and Public Engagement’s news bulletin, available in Osogbo, the state capital, on Sunday.

The release was co-signed by Mrs. Ayobola Awolowo, the Commissioner for Women, Children, and Social Affairs, and Mrs. Abimbola Babatunde, the Permanent Secretary.

The infant, named Temitope Daniel, was discovered inside a carton at a location in Zone ‘B’ Area in Dagbolu by an undisclosed resident.

Despite efforts by the police and social workers from the Ministry of Women, Children, and Social Affairs to trace the child’s parents, no success has been achieved.

The statement emphasizes the importance of public assistance in providing relevant information that could lead to the identification and location of the abandoned child’s parents.
