Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has made another installment towards repaying the half-salary debt owed to civil servants in the state.

This marks the fourth month of repayment since Adeleke assumed office as governor.

According to a statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke had earlier approved phased payments for the 30-month half-salary debt inherited from the previous administration.

Similar agreements were also reached with pensioners for the payment of outstanding pension and gratuity amounting to N75 billion.

Adeleke reiterated his commitment to the agreement with workers to gradually settle the substantial salary and pension arrears inherited from his predecessor.

The governor assured workers that the phased payment process, as outlined in the circular issued by the Head of Service, would continue alongside other welfare packages for both active workers and retirees.

He emphasized his dedication to implementing palliative allowances recently approved for workers and pensioners, extending the commitment to local government employees as well.

Adeleke reaffirmed his promise to stick to the circular and ensure the uninterrupted implementation of the repayment plan.
