Dangote Oil Refining Company has announced the imminent arrival of its second crude oil shipment within three weeks, following the receipt of its inaugural one million barrels on Friday.
The STASCO vessel discharged the crude at the refinery’s single-point mooring from the Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited.
The first crude feedstock for the 650,000 barrels per day ($19 billion) Dangote refinery has already arrived in Nigeria, signaling the facility’s readiness to commence fuel production after facing years of delays, as reported by SP Global.

The OTIS tanker delivered a 950,000-barrel cargo of Agbami crude on December 6, discharged at the refinery’s terminal on Thursday, according to market sources and tanker tracking data.
Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group, had previously stated that the refinery would start production with 350,000 barrels per day of crude.
The company’s statement explained that the initial one million barrels, part of the six million to be supplied by various suppliers, would sustain the initial processing capacity.
The refinery anticipates receiving the next four cargoes, supplied by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, in two or three weeks.
The final cargo of the six will be provided by ExxonMobil.
Dangote Refinery highlighted the role this development would play in addressing fuel supply challenges in Nigeria and neighboring West African countries, kick-starting production of diesel, aviation fuel, LPG, and subsequently Premium Motor Spirit.
