In a shocking revelation, the Ogun State Police Command has uncovered the decomposing body of Quadri Salami, an 18-year-old 100-level student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, who was reported missing last month.
The police disclosed that the body was found buried in a shallow grave at Mile 6, Ajemo area of Abeokuta.
Following the discovery, the police arrested two alleged ritualists, identified as Akeem Usman and Ifadowo Niyi, who confessed to slaughtering the deceased and dismembering his vital body parts for ritual purposes.
Niyi reportedly took Salami’s head and two wrists, paying N100,000 into Akeem Usman’s account as proceeds from the sale of the body parts.

The suspects further revealed that they continued selling other body parts to internet fraudsters, buried the heart, two legs, and flesh inside a plastic rubber for rituals, and utilized the remaining parts for money-making charms.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, issued a statement on Wednesday night, providing details of the arrest and investigation.
The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, personally led the Tactical Squad to Mile 6 in the Ajemo area of Abeokuta to exhume the decomposing body parts after tracking a clue to Akeem, who was arrested in possession of the victim’s phone.
Akeem implicated Ifadowo Niyi, asserting that both committed the heinous crime by slaughtering the victim and dismembering his vital parts for ritual purposes.
Both suspects are currently in custody at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and will face prosecution.
The police commissioner emphasized the commitment to ensuring justice is served and urged parents to collaborate with law enforcement by providing volunteer information to eradicate such nefarious practices.
The investigation is ongoing to bring all perpetrators to face the full extent of the law.
