The Osun State Government has commenced the dualisation of Ede and Osogbo township roads as part of its recently unveiled infrastructure plan.
This development was announced in a statement by the spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, in Osogbo, the state capital.
According to the statement, the road dualisation work covers the stretch from Old Garage Roundabout to Okefia Roundabout to Lameco Roundabout in Osogbo, as well as the dualisation of Akoda Junction to Cottage Junction to Baptist High School Area in Ede.
The total length of the roads is reported to be 11.17 kilometers, and the construction is expected to be completed within the next year.

During the launch of the construction work, Governor Adeleke reassured the people of Osun State that the government is committed to delivering quality infrastructure.
Additionally, documentation processes for proposed flyovers across the three Senatorial Districts in the state are reportedly being completed.
The spokesperson’s statement mentioned, “The construction of flyovers at Ile Ife, Osogbo, and Ede is to commence in due course as soon as the ongoing documentation processes are completed.”
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works, Mr. Bashir Bello, confirmed the commencement of earthwork on the roads and mentioned that the contractors have mobilized to the sites.
He also assured that the Ministry is following due process and procurement laws, emphasizing the commitment to delivering the projects as scheduled.
Bello added, “In the next few days, we will announce likely diversions and alternative traffic routes. All efforts will be made to make the construction process as people-friendly as possible.”
The infrastructure plan reflects the government’s dedication to improving the state’s road network and providing enhanced transportation for its residents.
