In a disturbing incident, gunmen abducted two landlords from the Asokoro extension area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Sunday.

The armed assailants, who reportedly demanded a N20 million ransom for the victims’ release, targeted one landlord who was held at gunpoint and used to gain access to another victim.

According to a resident identified as James, the first landlord was accosted outside his residence around 11 pm.

The gunmen, dissatisfied with his dwelling, forced him to guide them to a neighboring house, where they abducted a second landlord.

The kidnappers later contacted the families, demanding N10 million from each, with a threat to harm one victim if the total sum was not paid.

The families negotiated, offering N2 million, but the gunmen rejected the plea.

The FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, was unavailable for comment at the time of reporting.

The Asokoro Commander of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Mohammed Seidu, confirmed the incident and stated that joint efforts with the police were underway to secure the victims’ release.
