Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has initiated the first tranche of the settlement of death benefits to families of deceased civil servants and gratuities of pensioners.

Approximately 6,000 beneficiaries who retired between 2016 and 2019 are expected to benefit from the N6 billion earmarked for the first batch of payments.

Despite financial constraints and competing developmental projects, the governor highlighted that leakages in public funds had been blocked to execute more viable projects for the people.
