In a move aimed at fostering grassroots development, Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has given the green light to constituency projects for the 236 councillors in the state.

This decision aligns with the governor’s commitment to empowering local representatives to execute projects in their respective constituencies, being the closest to the people at the grassroots.

The announcement was made during a meeting at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, where the councillors expressed a vote of confidence in the administration and conveyed their gratitude for the prompt payment of their full furniture allowances.

Governor Abiodun reiterated his dedication to fulfilling promises made to the councillors, emphasizing his commitment to grassroots development.

He assured them that the constituency projects would be implemented successfully, recognizing the councillors as vital representatives at the grassroots level.

“I am a promise-keeping Governor. Whatever promise I make to you, I will keep it. You will not be put to shame. You are the closest to the grassroots. I also promised that I was going to ensure you are sufficiently empowered. You are politicians. You must be empowered to continue to empower your various constituencies, and I think I am trying,” Governor Abiodun stated.

The Chairman of the Ogun State Forum of Councillors, Olarenwaju Adeleye, expressed appreciation to the governor for approving and fully disbursing their furniture allowances.

Adeleye also commended Governor Abiodun for executing projects in each of the 236 wards in the state.

Furthermore, he acknowledged the governor’s commitment to completing projects initiated by previous administrations, showcasing a dedication to overall development in Ogun State.
