Khamees Darazo, a loyalist and staunch supporter of President Bola Tinubu, made good on his vow by renaming his two-year-old daughter during a special ceremony held on Sunday.

Darazo, who serves as the Chairman of Arewa Youths Awareness on Leadership and Election in Bauchi State, explained that the decision to rename his daughter Abibatu was a heartfelt tribute to the late mother of President Tinubu.

Earlier this year, Darazo had pledged to rename his daughter if President Tinubu emerged victorious at the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.

Speaking at the naming ceremony, Darazo shared his motivation for the decision, emphasizing his unwavering confidence in President Tinubu’s vision and leadership for Nigeria’s progress.

He expressed, “Today marks a significant moment of celebration as we hold the renaming ceremony. In a heartfelt tribute, I have renamed my dear daughter Hauwa to Abibatu, after President Tinubu’s mother. This decision reflects more than mere admiration; it is an homage to the matriarch of a leader, a tribute to the upbringing of a President.”

Darazo went on to clarify that his support for President Tinubu was not driven by personal gain or political favors, stressing that it was rooted in a genuine belief in the President’s ability to lead the nation towards prosperity.

As a demonstration of his loyalty, Darazo highlighted his past contributions, including dedicating his allowance during the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to support Tinubu’s campaign efforts.

He also actively engaged communities in Gombe and Bauchi, advocating for their support and votes during the February 2023 elections.

With President Tinubu’s recent victory at the presidential election petition resolution, Darazo expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for answering their prayers.

The renaming ceremony symbolizes Darazo’s continued commitment to President Tinubu and his aspirations for the nation’s development.
